Donald Trump addresses claims Don Jr. could follow in his footsteps with unexpected career move

Donald Trump’s eldest son, Don Jr., might follow in his father’s footsteps – but not in the way you might expect. No, there’s no campaign announcement here. Instead, the move being discussed would take him back to something a little more familiar: television. Donald Trump Jr. has been a part of the Trump organization for more than two decades, and has played an important part in his father’s presidency, positioning himself as a key figure within the MAGA movement and something of a gatekeeper for its future. Before that he was a real estate executive and venture capitalist, previously serving as a partner at 1789 Capital. Now, attention is shifting again, and this time it’s toward entertainment.

Reboot of The Apprentice

According to The Wall Street Journal, discussions are underway about a potential reboot of The Apprentice, the long-running reality series once hosted by Donald Trump. The show originally aired for 15 seasons between 2004 and 2017 and became a major part of Trump’s public image before his presidency. The reboot conversations are reportedly happening at MGM, which is now owned by Amazon. Sources suggest that if the show moves forward, someone close to Trump could be considered to take over the hosting role. While no official decisions have been made, the speculation has naturally landed on Don Jr., who previously appeared on the show as a boardroom judge.

“We’ll see what happens”

An Amazon spokesperson addressed the reports, saying: “Since our acquisition of MGM, we have had preliminary internal discussions about what’s next for The Apprentice as a property,” according to Tyla. They also made it clear that the project is not currently in active development and that no member of the Trump family has been formally approached about hosting.

Still, the idea has already reached the Oval Office. When asked about the rumors during an executive order signing on Thursday, Donald Trump reportedly responded: “Well, I’ve been hearing it. So we’ll see what happens. He’s good. He’s a good guy. He’s probably good.” He added: “He’s got a little charisma going.”
