Robert De Niro Urges Protests, Voter Turnout While Criticizing Trump
Actor Robert De Niro has once again taken aim at Donald Trump, continuing his pattern of outspoken political criticism. His latest remarks came during an event connected to the “No Kings” movement, where he called on supporters to ramp up protest efforts and voter engagement ahead of upcoming elections.
Speaking during a National Day of Action kickoff call, De Niro outlined what he sees as major issues facing the country, including inflation, immigration enforcement, and foreign policy decisions. He argued that everyday Americans did not vote for rising costs or increased global conflict, stating that no political affiliation supported higher gas, grocery, or housing prices.
He also criticized deportation policies and what he described as excessive government force, claiming such actions do not reflect the will of voters. According to De Niro, the administration is out of step with public priorities, asserting that leadership is failing to listen to what citizens actually voted for.
As part of the “No Kings” campaign, De Niro urged people to take part in demonstrations and broader civic action. He encouraged attendance at a planned protest on March 28 and stressed the importance of staying politically active through organizing, volunteering, and voting.
While his phrasing about “voting three times” appeared rhetorical, he clarified that participation should include protest engagement, activism, and ultimately voting in the November election. He framed these steps as necessary to influence political outcomes and protect democratic processes.
De Niro also warned that failing to stay engaged could have serious long-term consequences. He emphasized that both public demonstrations and electoral participation are essential.
In a previous interview, he described the nation’s challenges as an internal crisis and urged continued resistance, calling upcoming elections a critical turning point for the country’s future.
