Trump Dubbed ‘Stupid’ Over Nicki Minaj Comments
President Donald Trump faced a slew of backlash after he “complimented” Nicki Minaj’s buttocks. Trump, 80, spoke at a campaign rally in Port Huron, Michigan, where he described Minaj’s rear end as “one h- of a beautiful a-” that is “hard to miss.” The rapper, 43, has been a staunch supporter of the president since his second term, despite previously criticizing his immigration policies. Trump similarly gushed about Ohio Senator Jon Husted’s build and buttocks at a rally in North Carolina.
“He is not a president. He is a vile, stupid, evil creature,” wrote one user on X in response to Trump’s remark. This follows a body language expert dubbing Minaj’s reaction to the comment to be one of “embarrassment.” “I hope Nicki wasn’t insulted! But we love Nicki! She’s been with us for a long time!” added Trump. The president instructed the “Starships” musician to perform a 360-degree spin to show off her backside for the audience. Minaj complied with the command.

She later joined Trump on stage, where she pledged her unfettered support for him, including saying she would support him during a theoretical third run for president. “I knew it would take 2 seconds for him to sexualize a woman,” posted another social media user.

Public Reaction to Trump’s Comments
“What kind of PRESIDENT talks like this?! People are struggling to afford groceries, gas, and basic necessities. We have wars, racism, and hate tearing people apart, and THIS is what we’re talking about?! How about focusing on the damn issues affecting everyday Americans instead of spewing unnecessary bulls-?!” reads a message. “Man has made a mockery of the presidency,” reasoned a critic, while one user dubbed the president’s statement to be “truly disgusting behavior” and “degrading.” “I’m sure Melania will love that,” commented another.

Trump has developed a recent penchant for commenting on various buttocks. “I’m studying his body, I’ve never studied the body of a man before, it’s not my thing,” said Trump before complimenting Sen. Husted’s build at a campaign rally. “But I looked at his a- and then I looked at his legs, I said his a-, ‘s-, it’s like a pile of muscle’ And then I looked at his legs and I said, ‘man, his feet are big,’ then I looked at his shoulders and I tapped him on the shoulder and it actually hurt my hand. It was like a piece of steel. I said, ‘this guy’s a monster’,” he added.
Comparison to Obama Tan Suit Controversy
One X user pointed out the irony in Trump making inappropriate comments about women’s bodies, writing “But they gave Obama HELLL [sic] over a damn suit.” In August 2014, former President Barack Obama donned a tan suit to deliver a press conference. He sparked backlash from Republicans, who wondered about the “appropriateness” of the suit color. “There’s no way, I don’t think, any of us can excuse what the president did yesterday. I mean, you have the world watching,” former U.S. representative Peter King (R-NY) said at the time.
