Phoenix Becomes New Hub for Nancy Guthrie Search

The FBI is relocating its command post for the Nancy Guthrie missing person investigation from Tucson, Arizona, to Phoenix. This strategic move, confirmed by a law enforcement source, aims to enhance long-term efficiency, as the larger Phoenix facility is better equipped and many agents involved in the case are already based there. The 84-year-old mother of “Today” show co-host Savannah Guthrie was reported missing on February 1, triggering a comprehensive search.

Despite the command post relocation, on-the-ground investigative squads, evidence recovery teams, and SWAT teams will continue their operations out of the FBI’s Tucson office. The investigation remains active, with authorities diligently pursuing leads, reviewing video footage, analyzing digital evidence, and following up on all tips. Officials indicate that much of the ongoing analytical work does not necessitate a physical presence in Tucson, facilitating the move to Phoenix for centralized management.
