Trump Admin Wildly Surpasses Biden Energy Record In Matter of Months
The White House marked the first anniversary of the National Energy Dominance Council on Saturday, highlighting what officials described as major gains in U.S. energy production and market performance over the past year.
Doug Burgum, who leads the council and serves as Interior Secretary, said the administration has achieved record levels of domestic energy output while also improving affordability for consumers. According to Burgum, gasoline prices have fallen to some of the lowest levels in recent years, while American energy exports have continued to grow. He also pointed to regulatory changes and streamlined permitting processes as factors that helped accelerate development.
Federal officials reported that U.S. oil production reached a record 13.6 million barrels per day in 2025. The administration said this surpassed previous records set during the presidency of Joe Biden and was achieved within months under Donald Trump.
Natural gas production also reached new highs, with output climbing to 110.1 billion cubic feet per day in November 2025—the highest level recorded since federal tracking began in 1973. The United States also maintained its position as the world’s leading exporter of liquefied natural gas, averaging about 15 billion cubic feet of LNG exports daily during 2025.
